1. Introduction
At Crowd&Cult ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users, including hosts, venues, and members of The Roster (for example artists, DJs, sound-system vendors, and security personnel). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data when you use the Crowd&Cult platform, website, and related services.
2. Information we collect
To operate as the digital bridge for the live entertainment economy, we may collect the following:
- Account and identity data: Full name, business or venue name, email address, and phone numbers used for communication and authentication (including via providers such as Twilio).
- Profile and professional data: Links to social media (for example Instagram), portfolio platforms (for example YouTube or Mixcloud), technical riders, performance categories, base booking rates, and preferred operating cities. Venues may upload menus and event photos.
- Financial and transactional data: Information needed to facilitate secure escrow, settlements, and payouts (for example bank account details, UPI identifiers where applicable, and transaction metadata). Sensitive card data and core banking passwords are not stored by us; payment processing is handled by RBI-compliant third-party partners (for example Razorpay Route), subject to their terms and privacy notices.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser information, and interaction data (such as profile views, tags, and search signals) used to improve matching, discovery, and autosuggestion features.
3. How we use your information
We use your data to operate the platform and reduce friction in booking and payouts. This includes:
- Creating and maintaining your public-facing profile on our artist and venue grids.
- Generating automated booking agreements and executing split or instant settlements, including through our payment partners where you use those features.
- Operating our "SOS Panic Booking" matching flow to suggest replacement roster members within a defined geographic radius (for example a city or region), where the feature is available.
- Sending transactional updates, booking confirmations, and workflow reminders essential to the service.
- Enabling crowd tipping and related features via unique profile identifiers (for example AR codes), where we offer them.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data to data brokers. We may share information only as needed to provide the service or as required by law, including:
- Between users: When a booking is confirmed, we may share contact and operational details needed to run the event (for example names, technical requirements, and agreed logistics).
- With service providers: Trusted vendors that help us host, secure, and deliver the product (for example cloud hosting, messaging, analytics, and payment partners), under appropriate contracts and safeguards.
- For legal reasons: Where required by applicable law or by lawful requests from public authorities, including under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and other applicable Indian law, as relevant.
5. Data security and retention
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access and update certain profile information through your dashboard.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt out of non-essential marketing communications while continuing to receive essential transactional and safety-related messages.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 8. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of this page and may provide additional notice for material changes where appropriate (for example by email or in-product notice).
